Hapkido Buchae techniques

Master Jens Schimmel shows Buchae techniques

in Image & Film - Part I
Buchae (subjects): "basic techniques"

While the techniques with the Danbong (short stick) in most Hapkido styles are already in the lower Dangrade to the fixed technical repertoire of a Hapkidoin, the techniques of the Buchae (fan) are often only found from the level of the master (4th Dan) or above , Just like the Danbong, the Buchae targets the (Kupso) nerve pressure points of the opponent. While the short stick is used as a single weapon, the fan is often used in a double pack. In earlier times, the compartments were made of Bakdal, a very hard wood and often had metal ribs for reinforcement. Sometimes sharp knives or poisoned arrows were built into the harmless defense weapon.

In the videos shown, you practice with two commercially available combat compartments with steel struts. When purchasing or using the product, please observe the regulations on weapon law applicable in your region !

In the video you can see seven basic strokes and a finger exercise with the fan

Have fun practicing
