For the first time, Juri Fleischmann (7th Dan Sin Moo Hapkido) was the German representative for Sin Moo Hapkido as one of the guest teachers on the international Jiu Jitsu course invited to teach Korean martial arts Hapkido. Juri Fleischmann has been running his own martial arts school for almost 20 years and has already taught international organizers of the 28th international Jiu Jitsu course in 10 countries. Zen-Bogyo-Do eV Otterbach (near Kaiserslautern, Rhineland-Palatinate) under Master Harald Westrich 6th Dan Jiu Jitsu. As every year, five high-level masters were invited to the seminar from the styles Jiu Jitsu, Goshindo and now Sin Moo Hapkido. Since the club is open with other styles and likes to “look over the plate”, it was again very interesting for the approx. 300 participants. The large sports hall was equipped with 5 mat areas. The martial artists were subdivided from elementary school students to advanced students and masters, who were each taught by the guest teachers on a two-day rotation basis. Thus, all participants were able to get the knowledge imparted with all guest teachers according to their level of proficiency. Juri Fleischmann presented a broad spectrum of Korean martial arts, from basic principles of Sin Moo Hapkido to advanced techniques. The students and masters were surprised by the very different methods and were able to take new impulses from the course. From the presentation of realistic self-defense situations and their own problems, to traditional techniques, there was something for everyone. Striking and kicking techniques and their defense, lever and throwing techniques but also their possible counterattack, if necessary as a training drill and much more. In the evening there was the opportunity for an exchange between masters and students, at a social get-together. At the end of the course, Harald Westrich's guest teachers were given farewell with gifts. At this point, the teacher line-up for next year was also discussed. Juri Fleischmann again has the opportunity to teach Sin Moo Hapkido 2019. The participants look forward to further exciting hours in which new techniques can be learned and already learned can be deepened.
