The Korea Martial Arts Society is a community of Korean martial arts masters Taekwondo, Hapkido and Gumdo (Kumdo), based in Sydney (Australia). The aim is to combine these three martial arts in a large community in order to offer our members a common platform!
Our President Michael Whang from Australia leads our community and has already been able to unite many well-known masters from all over the world under one roof by joining them, such as the gentlemen: Jin Young Hwang, Lee Kwan Young, Bo Mikael Lindstrom, Shin Byeonghyun, Sam Johnston and Kahrimanovic Muhamed
Our society is associated with many well-known Korean associations. Specifically, these are:
World Taekwondo Changmookwan Federation,
Korea Kido Association (Kidohae),
World Hapkido Martial Arts Federation,
Sunmudo (Korean Buddhist Martial Art) and the
Korea Composite Martial Arts Federation.
Cooperation with other associations is currently being initiated and will be further expanded. This society is not in competition with existing associations! There are no license fees and therefore certificates, with the exception of the KMAS member certificate, cannot be acquired by the Society. In this exclusive association, all Dan carriers from the master's degree (4th Dan) are accepted by application if their certification by a Korean association, such as the Kukkiwon, the International Hapkido Federation, the Kidohae, the World Haidong Gumdo Federation, etc., was carried out. All applicants must have the necessary certification in the respective martial arts by copying certificates or other verifiable confirmation. We recognize all Dan certificates that have been issued by well-known associations in Korea. Membership in the KMAS is and remains free of charge for the members who have joined. There is a distinction between two groups:
Holders of 4th Dan or 5th Dan in at least one of the martial arts Taekwondo, Hapkido or Gumdo, with simultaneous proof of their own teaching company such as a martial arts / sports school or registered association, in which he or she as the owner and or teaching trainer is working.
Holders of 6th Dan or higher. He owns or operates a dojang or teaches in a dojang.
