The Bulguksa Temple in Gyeongsangbuk-do Province in south-east South Korea is one of the most famous temples I would like to introduce to you today. The temple is located near the city of Gyeongju, which is certainly worth a visit and also has historic buildings. If you are lucky, you can watch a lantern festival after dark, where you can marvel at fantastic paper figures. Bulguksa Temple is on the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites with the nearby Seokguram Cave. The temple was built in the Silla period but like many Korean temples destroyed and rebuilt again and again. He is now home to seven national treasures of Korea and received until 1973 its present appearance. It is very busy here and a quiet minute you will not have, but a visit you should definitely plan and enough time to bring!
